25th October 2011 4pm-6pm: LATi Visit to Centre for Secure Computing,
DMU, Leicester (FREE to Members, £5 Non-members)
If you use PC’s and the internet for your business (and who doesn’t) then you need to come along to this visit to De Montfort
University’s Centre for Secure Computing. This visit will include a demonstration showing how vulnerable your PC is to outside
attack with some useful tips on how to make your systems more secure.
10th November 2011, 4pm-6pm: Visit to Department of Medical Physics,
University Hospitals of Leicester (FREE to Members, £5 Non-members)
Medical Physics is an extremely varied discipline with a wide range of applications concerned with technology in medicine.
With strong links to the University of Leicester the department is involved in clinical, research and teaching activities and is
internationally recognised as a centre of excellence for research on medical applications of Doppler ultrasound.
22nd November 2011, 4pm-6pm: LATI Visit to Lacerta Technology Ltd (FREE to Members, £5 Non-members)
Lacerta Technology was launched in April 2011 following the acquisition of Triton Technology by Mettler-Toledo AG. Lacerta Technology
will continue the successful instrument development business and consultancy services formerly provided by Triton Technology following
the recent purchase by Mettler-Toledo AG who will also be selling the TTDMA (Dynamic Mechanical Analyser) in the future.
Lacerta Technology’s product range includes the identiPol QA, the DETA (Dielectric Thermal Analyser) and the Humidity Controller all of
which were designed and developed by Lacerta’s own directors.
